Thus, it is essential for MRI technicians to look after the patients and keep them calm during the entire 60 minutes. After the exam is done, the results are then given to the radiologist.

Although, MRI technician have enough knowledge about the anatomy and physiology of the structures presented in the scan, they are not permitted to give any interpretation of the scan with the patients. When they already have the images at hand, they should give it to the radiologist, a person who has the duty of giving proper interpretations of any abnormalities found in the scanned image.

Where are these MRI programs being offered? There are a lot of MRI technician schools like colleges, online schools and universities that offers these said programs. Every state requires different requirements prior to enrollment thus doing a research beforehand will make things easy for you. Though these schools may have their differences when it comes to the requirements, they still ask for the basic and common requirement which is a high school diploma. Others would also ask for a certification that a person has undergone CPR classes.

Having a MRI technician education is imperative for many employers since they need to hire knowledgeable and skilled MRI technicians that know how to work on these machines. The kind of education that a person has will help improve your career path. Most would prefer to have an associate degree which can only be completed for 2 years while others would choose to have a bachelor’s degree which can be accomplished for 4 years. The average MRI technician salary for a year can reach up to $60,000, but the average mri tech salary may range between $45,000 and $65,000 depending on certain factors like employment, location and years of experience.
